The Ball python is a relatively small python and usually grows no longer than four to five feet, in contrast to some of its other relatives. Because of this, they make excellent pets for those who adore pythons but are unable to keep a snake that might grow to be over ten feet long! Ball pythons are actually the most common pet snake in the world, probably due to their low maintenance requirements, lack of venom, and ability to thrive in captivity. Native to West and Central Africa, ball pythons inhabit grasslands and forested areas.
